Hi, I’m Alyssa Cazee (KAY-zee), author of The Cazee Creative. Since taking a fashion and textiles class in high school, I have been drawn to the beautiful patterns, colors, and textures that make up this world. Whether it be in fashion, nature, architecture, or cooking, I am always looking for ways to capture what inspires me. Here you will find feminine & timeless fashion, home decorating, travel, and various lifestyle topics. I’m excited to share tips, hints, tutorials, and occasionally just my favorites. For my first post, I thought it would be fitting to share the 5 bloggers who have inspired me the most.
I have been following some of these women for years, and some for only a few months. I’ve learned from them as they have evolved and grown their own businesses, and each have elements that represent parts of my own style. They all have a lifestyle focus, with very different styles, voices, and strengths. These are the 5 bloggers who have inspired me the most:
Julia Engel of “Gal Meets Glam“
Julia has a very timeless, elegant style which I really appreciate. She encapsulates my vision and style so much, that I wouldn’t be surprised if we had very similar personalities! She has created a fashion line that I would feel comfortable wearing to the office, a wedding, or a girls night out. Her style has a southern touch and you will find Charleston all throughout her photos since she and her husband live there. Julia is a flower-lover like I am, and I love how she incorporates them into her entire brand. Aside from fashion, she shares very open posts and videos about her first pregnancy journey, gardening, and home decorating.
Jenna Kutcher
Jenna is someone that I recently started following, and wow. Listening to her podcast makes me thankful for my commute, and that is saying a lot. I come home feeling inspired not only to dream, but to take action. If you are interested in starting a creative business, or any business really, The Goal Digger is available on Spotify. She started as a wedding photographer, and now helps people who want to grow a business while balancing a life outside of work. As someone who wants to be a stay-at-home momma one day, I’m all ears. She creates beautiful content, blogs about topics that are helpful, and keeps it real on Instagram.
Olivia Rink
I started following Olivia one day after browsing Instagram and seeing one of her eye-catching photos. She has moved from Chicago to New York since then, and is always capturing beautiful shots of the city, her apartment, fashion, and more. She focuses on petite fashion, but what I love even more than her great style, are her blog posts about some in-depth topics. It is so refreshing to read content that is honest and vulnerable in a world full of surface-level. From topics like her experience trying to juggle life and career, to confidence, to faith, I can always count on thoughtful and inspiring writing.
Amanda Waters of “Homesong”
If there is one word that I could use to describe Amanda, it is poetic. She is a blogger, wife, mom, and homemaker living in Kansas City. Her content doesn’t focus on fashion, and she rarely features herself at all on her blog. Homesong’s tagline is “simple things done with care” and that couldn’t describe her brand any better. She can take the most simple thing, such as a ray of sunlight on a chair, and frame it into something wondrous that makes you think about life. I’m obsessed with her style and home, but most of all her perspective on this beautiful, messy life.
Ruth Chou Simons of “Gracelaced“
I started following Ruth recently, and I’m so thankful I did. She is a woman in God’s word, and shares truth in every post. She is a blogger, author, wife, mother of six, and fears the Lord. Reading her content reminds me of what my calling is, and that is to ultimately point people back to Jesus. Her posts do that for me daily in a space where it is challenging to sort through what is truth and what isn’t. She has also written four books and sells beautiful products from her website. Her content is filled with crafts, recipes, motherhood, marriage, and more.
Other bloggers that I love following (because I can’t really choose just 5):
Caitlin Covington of “Southern Curls and Pearls“
Caitlin was the very first blogger and influencer that I started following. I adore her southern charm and style, and she tends to feature travel to beautiful destinations. She is very open about her blogging journey, and I have truly learned a lot from her.
Tessa Barton of ” By Tezza“
I was first introduced to Tezza by my sweet friend Lauren @ sewsandseeds when she let me borrow her copy of Tezza’s book, Instastyle. Tezza is a business savvy rock-star, and her one liner captions + edgy photos challenge me to think outside the box.
I grew up watching Laguna Beach and The Hills, so naturally, I’m a huge fan of LC. She is a boss lady with a great fashion line, podcast, and blog. She has nailed capturing life topics that everyone is wondering about, and her Instagram feed is beautiful.
